Working principle of plasma cutting

Plasma is a gas heated to a very high temperature and highly ionized, it will transfer the arc power to the workpiece, high heat so that the workpiece melted and blown off, forming a plasma arc cutting working state. Compressed air into the torch after the distribution of two roads by the gas chamber, that is, the formation of plasma gas and auxiliary gas.

The plasma gas arc melts the metal, while the auxiliary gas cools the parts of the torch and blows off the melted metal. Cutting power supply includes the main circuit and control circuit two parts, electrical principle: The main circuit includes contactor, high leakage resistance of three-phase power transformer, three-phase bridge rectifier, high-frequency arc ring and protection components and so on. The external characteristics of the power supply caused by the high leakage resistance are steep.

The control circuit completes the entire cutting process by means of a button switch on the torch:

Pre-ventilation-main circuit power supply-high frequency arcing-cutting process-arc-stop.

The power supply of the main circuit is controlled by the contactor, the short pass of the gas is controlled by the solenoid valve, and the high frequency oscillator ignition arc is controlled by the control circuit, and the high frequency stops working after the arc is established. In addition, the control circuit still has the following internal locking function: Thermal control switch action, stop working.
